Our custom crafted tasting bar is a magnificent work of art, the works of the hands of a craftsman. This person listened to our story, studied our plans, designed a piece on a CAD drawing for us to approve and then began the works of his hands to craft the bar. I could never duplicate this effort. This person is a designer, an artist and a builder. His work is amazing.

The Psalmist declares the works of the hands of God: He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the inheritance of the nations. 7The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy; 8they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness. 9He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever. Holy and awesome is his name! 10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! Psalm 111:6-10

God is a designer, an artist and a builder.  His works are amazing! The works of God and teachings of God are established forever and ever with a purpose: to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.  We, his holy people, are called to continually work the work and speak the precepts of God that have already been established. We are not called to come up with new precepts or works; we are called to be repeaters of his word and work.

Jesus was a repeater:  Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. 20For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel. John 5:19-20

Jesus stepped into the world to work the works of God in the lives of the people. Jesus steps into our world through his word and through repeaters of his word and work to bring his holy covenant alive in our lives. He calls us to place ourselves in the presence of people who have been touched and changed and healed by the word and work of God. This healing word and work comes alive in our hearts and lives because it is the work he established, his life and his righteousness being repeated for us.

We are called to be repeaters of the word and work of God. We fight the battle of our minds; we try to say, “I couldn’t do the work of God”; we try to leave that work up to other people rather than allowing our hearts to receive the work of God and repeat his work. Jesus’ words bring awe, holy fear and wonder: Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:12-14

We are called to receive the word and work of God. We are called to allow that work to soak into our heart, soul and spirit to free us from IT!, whatever IT! is that gets in the way of a healthy relationship with God and with one another. Others have struggled with the same things we struggle with. The work of God has been worked in their lives and God is calling us to allow his word and work to be repeated in our lives. We are called to be repeaters of the work of God in Jesus’ name with awe that this is not our work but his work being repeated through us.

May God grant us courage to allow the mighty works of God to work in us. May God grant us boldness to allow the mighty works of God to work through us. Blessings IN Christ, Cindy
