Our Mission

The mission of Trinity Lutheran School is to provide a Christ centered environment in which students perform at or above grade level in the core subject areas.

Our Objective

We want every student to leave Trinity Lutheran School with skills in basic communication, critical thinking, reasoning, analysis, and synthesis, because these are the tools of an educated person. We are rooted in the Lutheran-Christian tradition, doctrine, and associated moral and ethical values. We consider our school community an integral part of the Northern SLO county and in it we strive for responsibility, forgiveness, friendliness, and social awareness.

Trinity Lutheran School's faculty and staff strive to create in the student body a sense of both support and structure. Through our approaches to instruction and to discipline, we try to communicate to all students a sense of their self worth and pride, and success in all endeavors, school related or not. We seek to establish a partnership with parents and open communication between home and school.

We do this in the following ways:

Foster a teaching environment that is safe, comfortable and nurturing
Develop instructional practices that balance independent creativity and structured learning
Have a curriculum that includes core skills and knowledge, moral and religious training, physical education, and time for the creative and performing arts
Offer an extracurricular program that extends classroom learning
Create a school community that believes in respect, thoughtfulness, and empathy for others as well as an awareness of our role in the larger community, and
Use disciplinary procedures which teach students responsible behavior and emphasizes contriteness and forgiveness; we allow students to retain their innate dignity at all times

As we look to the future we will continue to research and utilize new learning theories and instructional processes and implement a curriculum that is flexible in approach, resources, scheduling, and content. We will continue to develop facilities to enhance the learning environment and accommodate our student body.
