| WE BELIEVE |
Man was created holy by God but lost this holiness
through disobedience.
Man is still disobedient as evidenced by his inability to keep
the Commandments perfectly.
God loves man in spite of man's disobedience. God loves man so
much that He laid all the guilt and punishment for sin on His Son,
Jesus.
Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, lived a holy life on earth
and suffered and died in our stead. His resurrection from the dead
declares His victory over sin and death. Full and free forgiveness
is offered to all people. Those who believe in Jesus as their Savior
receives God's grace to live a new life.
The Holy Spirit creates faith and sanctifies life as God's Word
is spoken or read in the Bible. As that Word is coupled with the
sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, God gives His grace
through these means.
The Bible with its Old and New Testaments is inspired by God and
is the only source and authority for all matters of faith and life.
Christ's Church comprises all those who rely on Him for forgiveness
and eternal life. The church preaches and teaches the Gospel of
the Kingdom and ministers by the power of that Gospel.
The Lord of the Church will come again visibly at the end of time
as the righteous Judge of the world. He will raise the dead and
give His people eternal life. |

| REASONS FOR A CHRISTIAN EDUCATION |
1. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS TO HAVE PREEMINENCE IN ALL
THINGS, ACCORDING TO COLOSSIANS 1. This includes the school education of the student.
2. AN EDUCATION
WHICH OMITS GOD OR FAILS TO GIVE HIM THE PLACE OF CENTRALITY
IS INCOMPLETE. The Bible says that in God we live
and move and have our being. HE is relevant to education.
3.THE CHRISTIAN
SCHOOL IS COMMITTED TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE. Trinity
gives a sound, basic, academic education. Its students score above
national norms on standardized achievement tests. Graduates do
well in high school, college, graduate school, and in their careers.
4.CHRISTIAN
SCHOOLS ARE DISCIPLINED SCHOOLS. Teachers are respected.
Time is not wasted, allowing steady learning to take place.
5. THE BEST
EDUCATION TO PREPARE A STUDENT FOR THE REAL WORLD IS AN EDUCATION
IN WHICH JESUS CHRIST IS CENTRAL. The real world
can only be discerned from the Christian vantage point. The secular
vantage point for viewing life presents an unreal view of the world.
Christian School students are not sheltered, as demonstrated by
the lives of thousands of graduates.
6. A CHILD
SHOULD BE BROUGHT UP IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO, AND WHEN HE IS
OLD HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT. The Christian School assists
parents/guardians in fulfilling their responsibility to carry out
this mandate, for the school is in harmony with the Biblical teachings
of the home.
7. THE CHRISTIAN
SCHOOL TEACHES STUDENTS TO SEEK AND DO THE WILL OF GOD. Each student is encouraged to live a life which will please
God, walking humbly with Him and keeping His commandments. |

| CHAPEL SERVICE AND OFFERINGS |
On Wednesday mornings, all pupils assemble for the
regular Chapel service. The worship is conducted at the level of
the children by one of the pastors, church staff, one of the teachers or an entire class.
An offering is taken to train the child in Christian giving for
Church, mission work, and other charitable purposes.
This service is not intended to replace the regular Sunday morning
worship service, but rather become a supplement to the child's
Christian training. Parents/guardians and friends are always welcome
to attend these services. Grades 1-8 meet every Wednesday from
8:15 – 8:45a.m. The Kindergarten attends with them on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Wednesdays. The Preschool and Kindergarten classes meet for chapel on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 9:30 – 10:00a.m. |

| CURRICULUM SUBJECT SUMMARY |
GOD'S WORD
The love of Jesus is motivated through
Bible stories, songs, hymns and prayers. Our objective is to not
only develop a knowledge of Bible truths, but to develop Christ-like
character in each student.
BIBLE MEMORY
This teaches the student to discipline their mind
and at the same time to digest Biblical truths.
READING
This is a balanced and sequential program in grades K-8
teaching phonics and comprehension skills along with creating lifetime
readers.
SPELLING
This is taught in all grades with an emphasis on phonics
and words used frequently in writing. Spelling is also emphasized
in conjunction with all other subjects.
LANGUAGE
Speaking, writing, and listening activities are taught
in all grades.
COMPOSITION
Self-expression and creativity are learned through
practical writing assignments.
PHONICS
This is the basis of our reading program. Through the
use of basic phonetic sounds and blends, most children begin reading
stories in Kindergarten.
HANDWRITING
Printing is mastered in grade one and the first part
of grade two, with an emphasis on cursive writing in grades three
through five, and refinement in grades five through eight.
SCIENCES
A basic curriculum using "hands on" experiences
is used to introduce pupils to life, physical, and earth science.
As part of the life sciences a Family Health Unit (Sex Education)
is taught every even numbered year. This is a Christian curriculum
that is published by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
MATHEMATICS
Math instruction utilizes
traditional and "hands
on" activities to help pupils master the basic facts and learn
the application of math concepts. God's beautiful order is revealed
through math.
HISTORY & GEOGRAPHY
History,
geography, and current events are given attention in all grades.
A Biblical perspective allows
students to recognize the great heritage we have as Americans.
ART
God is the author of beauty. It is our aim that our students
will appreciate the beauty of God's creation and also develop their
own creativity to bring glory to God.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Physical education is provided regularly. Teachers
lead instruction in physical fitness and individual and team sports.
Children are taught to consider others in sports activities. P.E.
is an opportune time to teach character, self-control, appreciation
and consideration for others. Students learn to respect their bodies
by using them as instruments of God. The Presidents Physical Fitness
Program is administered in grades K-8.
MUSIC CURRICULUM
In our Lutheran Schools, music plays an important
and unique role, and therefore assumes great importance in our
curriculum. Lutheran music education serves not itself but its
Creator, His will, and His word. Trinity Lutheran School offers
a varied music program for its students. In the primary grades,
rhythms, listening, and singing are emphasized. In the upper grades,
note reading is introduced as well as a continuing emphasis on
singing and listening. Pupils sing in worship services at Trinity,
in Chapel services at school, and prepare special music programs
during the school year. An annual school musical is presented in
which all students are required to participate. A note must be
written to the teacher prior to the musical if the child is unable
to attend. |

TRINITY BOOSTERS
|
Upon enrollment of their children in our school,
all mothers and fathers (or guardians) automatically become members
of the Trinity Boosters and are encouraged to participate.
The purpose of this group is to offer help and Christian guidance
to parents/guardians and to work in the interest of Christian Education
in Trinity Lutheran School. The Trinity Boosters hope to bring
about a closer relationship between the home and the school in
order that parents/guardians and teachers may cooperate more effectively
in Christian training.
Activities of the Trinity Boosters include providing educational
programs for the parents/guardians and children, assisting the
staff in the educational programs of the school, sponsoring activities
for parents/guardians, students, and members of Trinity Church,
and fund raising. Meetings are noted on the school calendar. |
